“Lord, do not forsake me; do not be far from me, my God. Come quickly to help me, my Lord and my Savior.” Psalm 38:21-22
It usually doesn’t take much thought to turn to the Lord when we are in trouble. It is amazing that the first thing out of our mouths when we’re almost hit by another car or when our child gets sick or hurt is a prayer.
The place to turn in a hospital room is the throne room of God. The place to turn when the phone rings and the news is very bad is to the Savior.
David closed this psalm with the request for the Lord to help him. It is the natural way to close in the face of the kind of trouble he had described.
It is within us to call out to the Lord because built within us is a need for Him.
But we need Him every day, every moment, not just in the middle of a battle.
Walk your day with Him today.
Lord, I need You, I need You every hour.
