There is a clear definition of who a fool is in Scripture. It has nothing to do with IQ, talent, ability, choices, background, bank account.
A fool is someone who says in their heart that there is no God. It is someone who has embraced the belief that he or she is the ultimate authority and doesn’t have to be accountable to anyone. It speaks to the core of their being.
And there you have it. That person is a fool. You see, the evidence that God is here, is all around.
The heavens declare the glory of God.
The hand God is in all the world around us.
Prophecy fulfilled tells us that it is history written in advance by One who knows the end from the beginning.
Archeology tells us that what has been spoken in the Word is true.
I could go on but the evidence is clear. There is a God. So, if you claim that there is no God and choose to ignore the evidence all around you, chances are you will ignore my words and I will simply be wasting my time. Thus, the Proverb tells me this: “Do not speak to fools, for they will scorn your prudent words.” Proverbs 23:9
Lord, I pray for those who choose to ignore Your Word and the evidence all around that speaks to who You are. I pray that they would open their eyes and see.
