“When I kept silent, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long. For day and night your hand was heavy on me; my strength was sapped as in the heat of summer.” Psalm 32:3-4
It is a pretty common thought today that I ought to be able to do anything I want to do as long as it doesn’t hurt anyone.
Here’s the problem. Sin, wrong choices, going my own direction against God’s plan always hurts someone. It hurts me. And most often it hurts others as well.
Sin, the refusal to admit it and be forgiven, is like a disease that eats away at my bones. It takes my strength, stamina, and can make me feel trapped. Sin destroys us from the inside out. We can feel God’s hand in us, calling us to Himself and if we don’t respond, it can feel very heavy.
Recognize your sin, admit it, and ask the Lord to forgive you. It’s like a spring breeze just swept out the dirt, and you’re ready for anything, especially to say thank You!
Thank You Jesus, that You come in to sweep all the dirt out of my life.
