When things are going well at home, it gives great joy and peace. When our children are making wise decisions and doing what pleases the Lord, we feel at rest. Turmoil is farther away. Peace in our homes makes us feel more peace in our hearts and that helps us to negotiate outside situations.
“Be wise, my son, and bring joy to my heart; then I can answer anyone who treats me with contempt. The prudent see danger and take refuge, but the simple keep going and pay the penalty. Take the garment of one who puts up security for a stranger; hold it in pledge if it is done for an outsider.” Proverbs 27:11-13
Again, we see the great divide between what is wise and what is foolish, between what is prudent and what is simple.
I want my children and grandchildren, my loved ones, and friends to choose wisdom.
Lord, please guard the hearts of my children, grandchildren, all my loved ones, and also mine. Help all of us to choose to follow You because You are where we find wisdom.
