“The Lord announces the word, and the women who proclaim it are a mighty throng: ‘Kings and armies flee in haste; the women at home divide the plunder. Even while you sleep among the sheep pens, the wings of my dove are sheathed with silver, its feathers with shining gold.’ When the Almighty scattered the kings in the land, it was like snow fallen on Mount Zalmon. Mount Bashan, majestic mountain, Mount Bashan, rugged mountain, why gaze in envy, you rugged mountain, at the mountain where God chooses to reign, where the Lord himself will dwell forever? The chariots of God are tens of thousands and thousands of thousands; the Lord has come from Sinai into his sanctuary. When you ascended on high, you took many captives; you received gifts from people, even from the rebellious— that you, Lord God, might dwell there.” Psalm 68:11-18
Sometimes through art, music, descriptions, people get the idea that Jesus is kind of a namby-pamby, milk-toast kind of a guy who is always gentle, meek, and mild. But did you see the description of just His army?
He has tens of thousands and thousands of thousands of chariots. This is an army that is beyond description. There is coming a time when the Lord Himself will lead this army and descend to the earth with a shout that will be heard around the world. We have no real scope of His power. We can’t even begin to understand how mighty and awesome He is. I believe our first sighting of Him we will not jump to our feet in applause but rather fall on our faces because of the majesty we are witnessing.
We need to praise Him today for such strength, might, power.
Jesus thank You that we cannot even begin to understand how mighty You are but in that we can find great peace that You have everything under control.
