“He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake.” Psalm 23:3b
I get lost sometimes when I’m driving.
I know people who seem to have a map in their heads. Karen’s husband, John, almost always knows exactly where he is and how to get where he needs to go. I was astounded when we were in Israel and someone mentioned a place they wanted to visit. John pointed and said, “It’s over there.”
How did he know that? But he did.
Yet, that is sure not me. I get turned around in buildings which means often I’m wandering trying to get my bearings. If someone begins to speak in terms like north, east, west or south, I nod politely but they might as well be speaking a foreign language. It does not compute in my brain.
So, for me, GPS has been an amazing invention. A voice can guide me to the right place.
Life is like that too. There are so many things that get in front of us, confusing, chaotic situations that cause us to be lost. But there is a Voice that can guide us.
He leads us on the right path, the path of righteousness. This is Yahweh Tsidkenu, The Lord, our Righteousness. He is the Voice that directs our lives if we listen. He moves us right where He wants us to be, if we will let Him.
Lord, You are my Righteousness. You lead and guide me along the right path. Help me to listen and follow.
