What do you do when a friend becomes an enemy?
It happens. People betray us. They let us down. They turn against us and go behind our backs to hurt us. It happens.
What do you do?
You do exactly what David did in this psalm.
Tell Jesus the hurt you feel, the distress, the pain. He understands it all because He experienced it all.
“If an enemy were insulting me, I could endure it; if a foe were rising against me, I could hide. But it is you, a man like myself, my companion, my close friend, with whom I once enjoyed sweet fellowship at the house of God, as we walked about among the worshipers.” Psalm 55:12-14
But remember that no matter what our friends, family, those closest to us may do, Jesus will always be there. He will never leave us or forsake us. He will always be our faithful Friend. We can trust Him and rely on Him.
I praise You, Lord, that You are always with me, no matter what. You are where I stand and where I kneel. You are my faithful Friend.
