When we think of the death of a loved one, we think of tears, grief, hurt, sadness, pain. That is not how the Lord views the death of His loved ones.
“Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his faithful servants. Truly I am your servant, Lord; I serve you just as my mother did; you have freed me from my chains. I will sacrifice a thank offering to you and call on the name of the Lord. I will fulfill my vows to the Lord in the presence of all his people, in the courts of the house of the Lord—in your midst, Jerusalem. Praise the Lord.”
When I take my last breath here, I will take my next breath in heaven in the presence of the Lord. Nothing will ever hurt me again. Never again will I endure grief. He will wipe away every tear. He will smile the glorious welcome home greeting that He has waiting for each of us. No wonder the Word describes it as precious. His family will be home!
Lord Jesus, how grateful I am that You are preparing a forever home for me. I will get to be in Your presence for eternity. Right now, I can only say, thank You!
