When I can’t sleep, I have found that one of the most restful things I can do is put on an audio version of the Scripture and listen. My mind is taken to a different place and I can hear what God is speaking through His Word. It isn’t long before my eyes close and sleep comes. It makes me think of this text:
“On my bed I remember you; I think of you through the watches of the night. Because you are my help, I sing in the shadow of your wings. I cling to you; your right hand upholds me.” Psalm 63:6-8
He is always there with us but it is such a blessing to be reminded of it. He is my help and it does put a song in my heart to think about that.
David knew it so well because He lived out that relationship with the Lord day after day.
I want to also.
Heavenly Father, I want to cling to You, sing to You through the events of the day and the watches of the night.
