Old?

The Bible is an old book. It’s been around for many, many years. Therefore, some say it is archaic, or it’s old fashioned, and not relevant. For some it sits on a shelf gathering dust. This Book makes no difference in some people’s lives because they never read it.

Yes, the Bible is an old book. It’s been around for many, many years. God gave it generations ago to be our guide and direction. It has been tested and proven over and over again through those many years and it has stood the test of time. God’s Word, our Bible, is true. We can stand on its promises. We can live by its precepts. We can count on its prophecies. Our lives can be changed for eternity because of its words. The psalmist agreed. “You are righteous, Lord, and your laws are right. The statutes you have laid down are righteous; they are fully trustworthy. My zeal wears me out, for my enemies ignore your words. Your promises have been thoroughly tested, and your servant loves them.” Psalm 119:137-140

We have been given this amazing Book, so we have a choice. We can read, study, and know the very words of the Creator of the Universe, or we can be like the psalmist’s enemies and ignore its words.

Heavenly Father, my Creator, I choose to trust Your Book to guide my life. I love Your words. Thank You.
